Our final day here in Cap Haitien. I had the opportunity to see some post op patients from cataract surgery and got to witness the smiles on the patients faces now that they can see. Even the family members of the patients were all smiling. It was an incredible week.

We treated a total of 1832 patients for the week. Even with the broken equipment, the surgeons were able to complete 54 surgeries. Mostly cataracts, pterygia and one extensive lid repair.

A needs analysis of the current OR showed that all new operating beds and microscope repairs need to be in our budget for our next trip. I will remain positive that our donors will continue their support to help the clinic and Dr. Guerline Roney in Cap Haitien continue to be self-sustaining.
